Baumzipfelweg
The highest tree-top trail in Europe is situated at the end of Saalbach Hinterglemm valley.
It is a unique project, combining the trail with an alpine „Golden Gate“ suspension bridge.
This natural circular tour starts at the parking area at the end of the valley and runs for a length of 2 kms over meadows, mountain fields and through the forest. The one kilometre tree-top trail starts at the Lindlingalm and includes the 200 m – long „Alpine Golden Gate Bridge“. In summer it is possible to use the small valley train to get there and back (around 4 km). In winter it is a good walk in a wonderful winterland, or alternatively a pretty drive in a horse-drawn sleigh or Hüttentaxi.
The Golden Gate Bridge is part of the 1 km long tree-top trail. The bridge is 200 m long, up to 42 m high and spans a valley,in which the source of the river Saalach flows. From the bridge there is a breathtaking panoramic view across the mountains and also over the high-rope park, which is situated under, and runs parallel with, the bridge.
The most numerous and spectacular views however are from the 600m long tree-top trail, – a massive construction in larchwood, – up to 30 m above ground – with steps, towers, platforms and bridges.
The Glemmtaler Tree-top Trail is an ideal excursion for lovers of Nature, families, school groups, senior citizens, clubs, firms and youth groups.
